Blocking a telephone number
Sometimes it's necessary to block a telephone number from calling your business and our system offers you the ability to block that caller. You can also block all anonymous callers from reaching you.
Scam Callers Note that scam callers will often call using different numbers. Meaning blocking one number may not have any impact on those type of calls.
User Based Number Blocking
Specific users can block numbers from calling them or restricting anonymous callers from reaching their extension.
Account Based Number Blocking
You can block inbound callers from reaching your staff by blocking their number or blocking all anonymous callers. Either option is managed at your telephone number level. Meaning if you have several numbers, you will need to repeat this step for each number associated to your account that you wish included.
1. Log into your manager portal
2. Select the Users tab
3. Using the search bar at the top left of your screen, type your telephone number without spaces or hyphen. Just type your number '6045555555.'
4. Select TOR followed by your number.
5. You may see this screen. Select 'Show System Users"
6. Select the number to edit like you would a regular user.
System User Alert Be careful anytime you are adjusting 'system users' You can impact the entire account and operation of your telephone system by making adjustments within those users. We suggest avoiding them, unless following very specific instructions such as these.
7. It will appear very similar to a regular user.
8. Select "Answer Rules' in the sub-menu
9. Select the Allow / Block button on the right side of your screen
10. Add the numbers you wish to block and select the + button.
11. You can even import a large amount of numbers and there is an import template available.
11. Select "Block anonymous or unknown" callers if you wish to block them.

What Blocked Callers Hear When callers attempt to call your business and their number is blocked, they will simply hear a busy signal. They will not be specifically informed that you have blocked them from calling.
