Getting setup with a new user
First of all, congratulations on your growth and we hope that your new team member is successful.
This is a not something that can be done in the portal. You must contact your account manager to add a new user.
It's really simple to request a new user. Just contact your account manager or support team with the following pieces of information.
- The name of the telephone (This can be John Smith, or Kitchen Phone)
- The email address for the user (This is where we send the welcome email & voicemail messages)
- Do you require a physical phone, and if so, do you want the same model of phone other staff have?
To understand the cost, look at your latest invoice for the price per digital extension or ask your account manager.
Other Considerations
- Do you require a direct telephone number for this new user?
- Does this new user need to be added to any Call Queues or Ring Groups?
- Does this new user require access to international calls?
- Any special instructions like "This user should be an office manager" or "The user timezone is "EST"
Timeline to setup the new user
Virtual User - If this is a 'virtual' user that does not require an on-site visit or shipment of phone, we generally setup and activate the new user within 24 hours of your request. That being said, we are happy to accommodate urgent requests immediately upon request.
Desk Phone User - If your new user requires a desk phone, we typically take care of your request within one week. This timeline can differ based on the model of telephone, and your urgency. We can often accommodate next day if required. Speak with our team for a more accurate timeline for your request.
