Why Your Clients See "Suspected Spam." or "Likely Spam"

When you call someone and their call display shows "Spam Likely." It means that your telephone number has been flagged by that cellphone carrier. Each provider (Rogers, Telus, Bell, etc) has their own system for flagging calls.

The good news is that calls will only be shown 'Suspected Spam' from that particular provider and it's not universal.

Even if your businesses doesn't spam call or perform telemarketing, cellphone providers can flag your business for any number of reasons. Including individuals reporting your call as 'spam.'

NOTE: We understand the impact this can have on your business; However this issue is beyond our control and has nothing to do with VoIP or our telephone network.

Removing the Spam Flag

Unfortunately, the cellphone providers don't provide clear guidelines to resolve this issue. Each company has a complicated method of flagging businesses using AI technology, call analytics, call volume, and individual spam reports.

Several Canadian cellphone providers (Rogers, Bell, Fido) use a trust & security company named Hiya to flag calls.
